Brake fluid onto the threads will help break the rust loose if it is corroded into the head.
I wonder if it is the bolt is junk or the gasket creates condensation more than manifold stuck to head with NO gasket.
I think it is Bolt is junk as I have had aluminum head engines with iron manifolds with gaskets and 300,000 miles on them, the manifold bolts come right out never broke off.
But that is Toyota and other foreign stuff not GM.

Broken bolts and rotten manifolds are the soup du jour in the salt belt.

GM, Mopar, F**d, imports..... all guilty

LH side only has 3 bolts holding the manifold on so busting the others should be no problem. LOL

All the time. Mig welder is your friend. I build up the broken bolt enough to protrude a little bit from the head, then weld a nut to it. Blip it out with the impact and done. Sometimes a stubborn one takes a couple of tries.

The manufacturers have proven that they can’t afford to use $2 worth of hardware on a $50K truck. So we keep buying them lol

I ended up buying new manifolds on eBay, it was less aggravation.

So i got to fix those pesky bolts today. Whoever said they turn right out is on crack, all the ones that broke off flush with the manifold were a b***h to get out. The only ones I am not getting out are the very back ones on each head, those are getting those brackets that bolt to the head and put pressure on the manifolds, cost me a little more but a lot less headaches to drill out bolts.
