Christine (Stephen King movie) has a transverse muffler so I want as much insulation as possible on the passenger side of the trunk divider. Had 1/2" closed cell foam insulation (two 1/4" layers) but was too thick. How much thickness can be used? What is good to use in this location?

Rest of the interior insulation is ccf
    1/2" behind lower rear panels
    1/4" behind upper rear panel
    1/4" underside of package tray
    1/4" roof
1/2" top of firewall to rear bun seats + 3/8" jute
    1/4" under bun seats

Also deciding what to use on the passenger side of the door. A separate post for this
