zzzzzz......still waiting for the cam vvt delete kit.

Transmission question. I have a free TH350 transmission to use. What OD transmissions could I use and still keep the factory shifter (using the shiftworks plate)? 200r4 the best option?

I think 200-4r might be the only chance

Also, my cam has a delivery date of tomorrow (fedex tracking finally)

I stopped trying to find out.:( I think 200r4 is the way I'm going. Would like to get it in with the motor instead of doing it later down the road. It's just money, right? lol

    Why not use a 4l60 or a 4l80?

And yes my cam took forever as well!

Well- that's my question. Bowtie OD wants over 2k for a 200r4 with everything I need (1,300 for trans). I'm using a carb so no computer on board. Can I operate a 4l60 with a stock shifter? Rich at Bowtie said I would spend about 1k more to go with one of those for the comp and programming device. All I'm wanting is a good auto w/od that will handle about 425-50 hp.

You may be able to get a stock shifter to work with a 4l but the add on computer etc. makes it more difficult then a 200

The 200-4R only requires a torque converter lock up kit and the TV (throttle valve) cable to properly operate the transmission.

IIRC you only need to slightly modify the bracket for the 4l80/4L60 and Jake Show sells a stand alone kit for around $600.

Looks nice! Add another $550 for speedo gear....that's one expensive tanny for my car. Wowzers!! More than I paid for the car and my LY6 with all the add on's. More I think about it- I better use the TH350 I have for now and concentrate on getting the front getting it in and running. The front drive accessories is a must and I haven't tackled that yet!

Man- the lobes on my flat tappet hydraulic cam were no where near this big and flat on end! Oh mamma!!!

Now I still am waiting on valve springs, retainers and new front cover. Get the oil pan from JJ Farmer (hopefully) and I'm ready to get down to business!
