Doug, how is the project going?
yeah- completely got sidetracked on other stuff, life, kids, etc! oh, yes and work to have $$! Will load my ly6 on trailer this week and take over to the shop and finish engine brackets, water pump, starter and fly wheel adapter.
So here is where I'm- Weekend of 10/19 we are pulling the 350/4 spd and do a cleaning on engine bay area. A little etching-paint, let dry over night and Sunday get the ls engine and automatic set in place. Will also connect exhaust and install electronic fuel pump(Part #TRE-344).
Monday will tow back to my house and get in my garage to work on accessories and ignition. Also will need to get an oem stock auto shifter.
Will update with pics!
The LY6 is ready to be loaded on the trailer to take over to the shop this afternoon. Doing the swap this weekend!
The fun is about to begin! Wish me luck!
looks good, good luck
WOOT, looks hot.
You might actually finish before I do with my LY6/T-56 442 swap. LOL
I was at that step Summer of 2011. I haven't done much this season
since I moved and I've got a million projects with my new house still.
Isn't that the truth! Funny how life happens. My wife is taking my 6 yr old to Disney World for the weekend so my 13 yr old is going to be my go to guy!
Swap weekend is here! Last night we finished up the engine with mounts, starter, balancer and intake. Bill at the shop did some bead lblasting on the balancer and starter.
Will start 8am this morning on pulling everything out and do a modest clean up on engine bay.
Can't wait to get this knocking engine out! But it got us to the shop!
Ready to go!
Also a drink holder!
I know that you are excited to get started on this....I'm excited for ya! Set that cup-o-tea down and get busy...LOL
Exciting day! So glad my oldest son Grant(13)
could be involved.
So here are the pictures from today. We only worked from 8am to noon. Bill wanted to watch the race but we go a lot accomplished and I have a lot of parts to sell.

Cleaned pretty good. New engine mounts put on! Here we go!
Grant wanted to see what the carb looked like.
Painted bottom end and tunnel satin black. Not any major detail but enough for now!
