I have another question. What are 823 castings?
that shows the difference between the iron head engine and aluminum

and the early 6.0 uses the long crankshaft that does not use a crank spacer. you can not run a 99+ 4l60e behind one of those. it will work with any older trans and 4l80e.
Are the 5364 cylinder heads aluminum rectangular port heads? How are they different from the 823 cylinder heads?

IMO, I would pay the extra $200 for the aluminum headed version.
If you're not getting a killer deal on this engine though and it might need a rebuild, I would look into a newer L92 with low miles. Probably cheaper in the long run! (ask me how I know)
I purchased a LY6 and 4L80 out of a 2009 2500 Van with 20,000 miles on it. The setup is complete with the TCM, wiring and all accessories. The motor has aluminum 823 rectangular port heads. I also purchased the LY6SS camshaft from Mast Motorsports. This should be a great combo. I will keep everyone posted.
