If you already have a SBC in your car the cost to put an LT1 in the car is much less than LSx swaps as you can use the same engine mounts, headers, etc. sbca96 is a good guy to ask about those costs and related items

I use the stock LT1 harness. Here is some great info to http://shbox.com/1/schematics_wiring.html

There is different metods to do the fuelsystem. I got a Holley TBI on my -71 and use the stock tank with the gasfumes ventline as a return. It does not work well when the fuel is below half. So the LT1 swap in the -72 got a modifyed tank.

If you have questions, just ask.

How exactly did you modify the fuel tank? Also, what is the purpose of using the Holley TBI as opposed to the stock TB? Sorry for the newbie questions.

I did cut a 6x6" hole and installed a pair of baffles so the fuel wont slosh around so mutch. I made a small bucket for the pump and patched up the tank.

I have not tested it with low fuel level yet but i think it will perform ok.

I can post a few pics of the tank if you like. It is difficult to explain this in a foreign language.

Sorry about the confusion about the throttlebodies. The TBI is on my daily driver Camaro.

    LT1 retro

I picked up a 95 Camaro LT1 with a 6 speed tranny for my '79 Z. Great information here. As the project moves along I'll provide updates. First thing is to tear engine down and inspect, then off to the machine shop to be cleaned up and have the heads tested for cracks. Gonna take a while, But I believe it will be well worth it.
