I just REALLY DID NOT need to just see that.

I've been running payments through my head all day on a 14 month plan.
    Why?? Cuz I'm stupid...and deranged.

That was a good deal. I just didn't have the interest in going a 2nd round
at that time, so it was bad timing for me.

I was sooooo close to bidding on this.......but the seller didn't make me feel too
comfortable in his advertising of LS3 power #'s false advertising.

I'd spend the extra $500 for the Hot Cam already in and working for the 50hp.

This is what I've been ogling over for a few weeks now.
This guy had Speed Inc which is right by my house put this LY6
in his 72 Chevelle A-body. It's putting down 430hp to the wheels
with just a cam, springs, & car intake + injectors. (tune too obviously)
    http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/conversions-hybrids/1111921-72-chevelle-ly6-cam-only-dyno-s.html

I've been going back and forth trying to REALLY feel out if the 6.2L is really worth
the premium , or just do the cam upgrade on the LY6 for this. Obviously the missing
link here is I don't know what kind of efficiency differences I'm looking at here.

He's got no email and he hasn't replied to my PM yet. He's local to me too.
I want to see if this is legit or Speed Inc advertising BS.

I don't know where you got your info from but the L92(6.2) and the Gen 5 ls3 are both vvt motors. My friends Denali (L92)08 and 2010 are both vvt motors. So you are alittle misinformed. Gen 5 L92 and LS3 all utilize the SAME head the ONLY difference is the valve type.
Also how do you put a "smaller" valve in a head cut for a 2.16 valve.

    I never saw that anywhere.
Do you have more info on this so I can understand those differences??

I've heard of L92's dropping valves on some forum discussions.

Thanks!!! Must have missed that one.

I wonder how important of a difference that is.
I'm guessing higher revving is easier with the lighter components for the performance oriented LS3.

    Something I've considered-

If you're ditching the VVT on a 6.0, I'd bet that the calibration of the base LS3 controller kit is "close enough" to make a junkyard engine run decent. For the price, I think it would be hard to beat even with used stuff, considering all you get with the controller kit.

Check the rest of that fbparts.com site for their engine prices. They are very competitive.;)

Yeah, I don't know of any true "LS3" designator engine that has VVT or AFM. IIRC, only the Vette and Camaro (and G8 GXP before) get the LS3.
