Thanks Bud. We're getting her cremated, and the guy that came to pick her up said that there's more dying from Lyme's disease around here than anything else. Ticks are terrible. Neighbor said he saw mature ticks coming out of the snow. We have deer in the back yard that have bunches of ticks on them. We have woods all around.

No hijack, I'm sorry you're going through this too. It doesn't take long to get attached to them, and having one a long time as you did, That's really tough.

Thanks Ron. Sorry about Lady Bug. Condolences to you and your wife. They are like family. I just lost the only being on this planet that was always happy to see me, and that includes my wife.

Thanks. My friend always said when he dies he wants to come back as one of our dogs. We always did the best we could for all our dogs. When something like this happens, we always second-guess ourselves. I guess it's human nature. Did we miss something? Why did we feed them that food? Should we have got them to the vet sooner? It can drive you crazy.

Thanks Chuck, I didn't realize how many till it happened to us. A vaccine would be a blessing.

Thank you Jim. We've been through it before, doesn't get easier. Then you run into people that say "Well, it was just a dog". Wanna choke-slam them. But how much easier it would be if I felt like that...

Yes, it may be 'easier' if you felt like that, but you wouldn't be the same man that we all know and think of as our friend, even if we never met in person. Caring shows that your heart is in the right place, Phil. And, we understand and feel your loss. Mia wasn't 'just a dog'. She was a part of your family.
