I'd stick with factory stuff if possible. The factory setups often lasted 20-40 years with no problems. You don't see that from aftermarket ignition parts.

I can't stay stock. The car im building is an 87 z28 and has a computer controlled set up that im not messing with. So it will be after market stuff for the most part. I found a Holley strip annihilator 800-200 for $100. Cant seem to find much about them. What do you guys know about it?

I purchased a 6al Mallory off sleeze bay and there is something wrong with it
I called and they said no more Mallory and gave me a number for someone that
rebuilds the box,, he told me don't waste the money which was over a 100 plus
parts to rebuild,, told me to go to another brand,,

MSD bought out Mallory then a couple weeks later Holley bought out MSD . you can contact Holley and they will give you info on who rebuilds these boxes . I believe MSD still rebuilds them

You can also contact century Performance , they deal in Mallory ignition

Skip White distributor and lose all the other unnecessary stuff. The only advantage I ever heard to be gained from an ignition box/amplifier is only with forced induction or nitrous.

Most people I know that have them, install them for the sole purpose of 'looking cool' under the hood.

Yeah if it's just to get away from the factory third gen computer stuff, just slap in a $50 HEI large cap and be done with it. Old stock unit, or Skip white new, or summit racing brand or what ever.
I used a modded GM HEI for years, until I stepped up my game and needed the rev limters and nitrous retard

If you can find an old old analog MSD 6/AL box then these are reliable. No new digital chit today is reliable. They went digital cause it's cheaper to make. Go figure.
