My goal this summer is to have paint on my '73 LT Z28. It was originally red with deluxe black interior.

Since I got this car as a shell (in trade) it isn't a restoration. I've install a TPI-T5 combo and will go for the Z-28 look. Red with while stripes and Black/White zig-zag seats.

It's difficult to tell from internet pictures but is there a generic red that is close to code 75? With the fenders off I can tell it was a non metallic. I'm hoping not to have to pay extra for the factory color formula.

It was a solid red in 73, Porsche Guards Red is a great choice for a bright solid red. If you go single stage paint, non clearcoat, PPG makes a mixing base in Concept acrylic urethane thats a nice red also, I have used both colors alot.
