BTW CI is having a "garage sale" Saturday at their Huntington beach location. Wanted to go but have other things to do.

The OER Restorer's Choice fender attempts to reproduce them.

    Hmm, doesn’t look right. It’s a start.

So, does that point to the OER fenders actually being made by AMD?

The fender came in an OER box, though it was oversized and didn't appear specially designed for the fender (and the only packing was one piece of bubble wrap, so picking up the fender from a vendor is definitely the way to go). So it has not been established whether it is different from the one offered by AMD. I would be very surprised given the facts, though, if it turned out they are not the same fender.

The fender seems to be the same weight and metal gauge as my OE fender, and seems generally well put together. Unfortunately, it is not shaped correctly. It's both too bowed - above and below the body line - and not bowed enough - at the top and bottom. I made a relief cut in the inner structure at the body line, and it helped, but think I will have to relief cut across the entire inner structure to get the over-bow out. Hopefully just bolting it down will take care of the under-bow, but worried that will just cause more over-bow in the middle. The fender-to-door gap is also wrong - tight at the top, big in the middle, and it doesn't follow the front edge of the door very well. Didn't snap a pic, but the repop door is very close to my original OE fender at the gap, so I don't think it's the door, which seems to fit pretty well. Looking at it again now, raising the front of the door might help the front gap. I only worked on this a little, and stopped to focus on my OE passenger side sheetmetal.

Door to rear quarter panel seems a bit much. Playing with some sims on the underside of the fender may help pull the door to fender gap in.

Agreed - the door needs to move back. Right now there is a over 1/2" gap between the firewall mount and fender flange. So everything is too far forward.
