    Hello Matt,

Just FYI, regarding the recurrence of rust on your underbody, I know that you think you removed it all when you stripped the underbody and coated it, but the fact of the matter is that there was likely rust in the crevices where you couldn't strip and definitely in between the sheetmetal panels where they are spot welded together. My understanding is that only a chemical strip/dip, followed by a dip in some anti-corrosive solution or coating is the only real way to remove ALL rust and prevent the rust you can't see from spreading. In addition, your garage/shed does not do anything to keep moisture from the metal of your car. It may keep the rain out, but unless you're parked on a sealed concrete slab, inside a somewhat well sealed enclosure, then your car (anything metal in fact) is still exposed to various amounts of moisture from the air. My garage was so poor in this same manner that my craftsman hand tools started forming rust spots on them, especially on those first warm days of spring when the warm, moist air came into contact with my still ice cold metal tools, and car sheet metal. Anyways, just my two cents. Good luck with the rest of your build, as mentioned by other members, your build thread is an inspiration to many others, including myself, and I don't even have a hot rod anymore!

Did you sand those all down to bare plastic? I'm doing mine now and seems like it will take forever to get all the primer off...

Sorry for the long update. So I think my hood search has come to an end. Ended up get a very nice flat hood for free from my buddy. Did the cuts and got the scoop mounted. Still needs some tweaks but at least this hood is rust and crack free.
