I run my car on this. Got to love the smell out of the tailpipes.
the colour of lower return spring is correct greenish.
The green spring is the only one that should be on it.
Do you have the original alternator?
This happened a lot (like Steve indicated not uncommon), mine also does not have the smog as it was removed by the original owner. When I spoke to him, about three weeks into his ownership off came the smog and sat on the shelf for years. Said one day it was gone so guessing someone junked it. Glad at least he left the manifolds in place and did not go with headers.
Nice touch to still have the original Harrison radiator, on the passenger side tank you will find the "CT" and in between will be a small letter to signify a date. I can see the faint "T" above your radiator tag.
Your car looks very clean, would be nice to see some interior pics.
How would you check for that? I will look and let you know.
Look for the number ending in 837 for the alt. Check my
website under engine/electrical and see pics where it is stamped.
Number on top is 1100837
Date code for your car something like 0F13. 0 is the year, (1970) F is the month (in this case, June) and the last two digits are the day. Alternators usually pre-dated the build of the car by a month or two. Maybe 3.
