I must have read one of them. I wanna upgrade to one of the BW units after i get mine reliably running. Hopefully i can do this after this season. Your car looks great. I'll be watching for updates.

    Thanks.

I can only tweak on it for another week or so then it will sit until Fall.

    Work owns me!

Two steps forward, one step back.

Something is up with my transmission. It is only going into 2nd gear no matter what forward gear I select. It also is putting out alot of heat when this occurs.

I checked a few basic things but transmissions are Greek to me.

Might get a chance to take it in somewhere to figure it out. I dunno.

    Do you have reverse?
Are you able to pull any trouble codes relating to the transmission?

Just thinking now, check to make sure your connector at the transmission is hooked up. ALso check the fuses. If you have no power the transmission will default to second gear.

    I have reverse.

I checked continuity at pin E on the transmission yesterday and it 'rang' good. After my coffee, I'll head back out and see if I have 12V switched at that pin.

Not able to pull any codes and my tuner is on Holiday in the UK. lol:(

One more thing. With the arrow at the 12 o'clock position, the transmission plug fails to make a secure connection. Meaning, it pushes on a fair amount to where you would assume connection is made but, it simply pulls off with minimal effort. I've tried squeezing at the 3/9 and 12/6 while installing it and it does not go on any further.

Maybe carefully pull the internal harness end outward to make sure its not backed into the case. Take a good look at the male and female connections. Maybe one of them is pushing in?????
May wanna test the shift solenoids too and i think the VSS sensors have been known to cause issues.
Have you googled the issue? Probably a dumb question but thought i should ask.

Yeah, I googled it and found various threads of the same issue but no definitive answer.

I confirmed 12V switched at pin E. Took a pair of channel locks and squeezed the connector while pushing out it with a screwdriver. I was able to get it to go on hair more but no change.

Doesn't matter what gear I select, It is still in second and no upshift. This is limp mode for the 4L80E's from what I have learned.

Need to find the how to on testing the shift solenoids.

    No.

I went to a local dyno day and met a a guy who works transmissions at the GM dealership. He offered to scan it for me and figure out what is going on.:)

Hopefully he makes good on his offer and I learn something new this week.

    Problem found.

A plug in the valve body was not installed all the way causing a cross leak.

Put it back together last night and works as advertised!

    Finally.
