Need a (pref) 4 or 5 Speed Manual Transmission for a '73 Camaro.

    I embrace it. But i will try...

    Having messed with many transmissions that I tried to make work in the past, I'd say go with something proven and solid (and fits) that you can afford. Super T-10? Then, save for what you want as a kit that will install without drama and find a way to get it to your door.

    Probably more like $3K at the very least once you get the clutch shifter bellhousing flywheel too.
    But that’s probably your best bet.

    You're not alone; lots and lots of people want to keep a budget and not go new Tremec.

    Is your Toyota transmission a R150, 151, or 154? Those are a reasonably well-regarded transmission, although the ratios in the truck transmission aren't ideal for a sporting car. If you had a Supra 5 speed, I'd suggest rebuilding.

    How about some more details on your project.
