I wanted to install a buss bar to pull switched power off of but needed some help.
    i was thinking ..
run purple ignition switch wire to a relay to then power up a switched power buss bar .
is this the right way to do this ?

If for a race car I would suggest going with .... www.leashelectronics.com

I'm using some of their products to wire up my street/ strip Camaro

    purple lead is start
pink lead (on hei cars) is IGN

start is probably not what you want.

Get a high current constant duty relay and use that to power the bus bar.

Thanks for the replys. I plan on using a relay . but... my question is whether to use ACC or IGN for the relay activation i was afraid if i use IGN that the items would cycle on and off as car cranks? does this make sense? or would it be better to use the ACC

On run ING and ACC have power. During cranking only ING has power.
