I dated a girl 20 years ago that had an '89 IROC. Her father bought it brand new in 1989. Black with a blue bottom stripe, louvered back window, and 5.7 TPI engine. Dang thing was pristine. Heard recently that she still has it....and it's still in excellent shape.

Had an 85 Z but the original 5 speed sucked when trying to shift at high RPM. An LS/tremec would make a nice ride

Since there is no International Race Of Champions, it would be stupid to tag a car with that name that would mean nothing. About as disgusting as the manufacturers not being forced to produce the body style raced anymore. :(

Yeah, but IROC is such a cool name! So 80's. lol. Those racing bodies have bothered me for years. Now that no one is going to be making cars anymore, I guess they'll be racing mini vans or SUV's. I also have a problem with TV commercials for cars that put a V8 soundtrack to a 4 banger.

What if GM brings a similar performance package to the Iroc-Z back then but for the current Camaro? Naming it lets say "Icon-Z" or something? Would it be cool?

It all swings back to the mullet being out of style.

Dude I had a SWEET mullet in high school in the early 90’s. My hair was almost down to my ass & I am 6’4”.
These days the back hair is taking its place.

IROC-Z’s just scream 90’s mullet machines to me.

The only 2 new cars I've ever owned, 1986 black with silver and a 1988 5.7 gray. I think a IROC Camaro would do just as well, if not better, than a Transformers or Hot Wheels edition...
