went to buy a 454 last Saturday, motors been sitting and was told water came out the drivers side header. engine wouldn't turn so he sold it to me for scrap value? $80 I mainly wanted the GM flywheel so it was worth it. as we were talking, guy tells me everything in the yards gotta go. guy says theres even a old camaro out back. Expecting a 3rd gen of some sort, I was surprised to see a 68 camaro. it's the brother in laws, no idea about the motor (turns out to be a 72 350) that didnt turn over, 8 point cage, fitted interior, rack and pinion coil over front end. basically someone turned a bracket car into a serious bracket car that never got finished.
motor turns over fine with a spray of pbblaster and a breaker bar. price was cheap for a 1st gen.
worst case, sell it as is or trade it for a el camino ptoject. jim 20181121_162333.jpg 20181121_162333.jpg

I don’t know what you paid but if the big block is anything to base the price off of, you’ve done well.

Easy enough to get parts for these cars, there are probably more parts for 1st gen, then 2nd gen, and most of the time less expensive,

I don't see how either of these purchases could be a mistake. You did real good! Even if you decide to sell both, there's money to be made. That's the bad? Wow.

I hope you guys are right. I've got a wanted camaro parts ad on craigslist. hoping someone got left over parts, stuff not nice enough for a restoration but good enough for a beater type car. 68 is my.favorite year camaro but I've got more A body stuff so if I can trade it for a el camino, putting a cruck together would be easier and cheaper in the long run for me
