    Hello,

I'm new to the site and to Camaros. I have found an all original '71 plain Camaro original owner. It has a 307 and turbo 350, floor shift w/console, manual disc brakes, a/c and power steering. Zero rust and the paint is fair though not original. The owner said it has 250k miles without a rebuild of anything, however, the engine has been serviced regularly and the transmission has been serviced every 18,000 miles. Everything under the hood is very stock appearing and clean. It is driven about 20 miles a week to keep everything in working order. The interior shows alot of wear but it isn't in terrible condition. Everything works with the exception of the a/c compressor which stopped working a while back. It still has all four original hub caps. It was originally a light green but was changed to a forest green in the mid 70's.

Is $5K a fair price? I have searched craigslist and the pricing is all over the place and you can't tell what any of them actually sold for.

Thanks for any and all input.

Zero rust? 5K seems very good. Not very desirable as it is with the 307/plain jane so you may be able to get him down a little. Imagine your not thinking about keeping it original looking for a good start to a project?

Yes I would do an engine and tranny swap. I was hoping he would negotiate but he wont budge.

I would pay $8K for a rust free car with drivable paint. $5K is a steal. When I was looking locally $10K is lowest price I could find. Anything less than that it was a basket case. Do you have pics?
