Hi, I have searched for this topic and can't find info. I have a 1971 z28 and would like to know if this car has the original headlights in it. These are the numbers I was able to take from them. Thanks for the help in advance!

Power Beams are just the brand name on the sealed beams. I don't know if that is the brand name or just the manufacturer's name. Maybe someone else knows more.

Isn't there something about T-3 headllights made before 1971 that are original for these cars?

I'm glad you mentioned that. I have seen original early 1970 Camaros with T-3headlights. These were on original owner or low mileage originals. My 1970 06B car had the original headlights but were Power Beam's.

    Good topic.

The only T3's I've seen used in this era were for 4 headlight systems like used on Chevelle. Any T3 for 2 headlight systems should have been out of production by the time the 70 Camaro arrived.

    FWIW...

For God's sake, don't spend that kind of money on Power Beam headlights...

I picked up a pair of outstanding condition Power Beam headlights for my 78Z off Ebay last year for a small % of what those NOS ones are going for (unless you have a completely sick, low mileage all-original 71, in which case you can probably afford em)

I can't speak for the early 70's headlights, but the ones in my 78 are the SINGLE headlights with both lo and hi beams built into one sealed beam headlight...the Ebay link above goes to a TWO headlight sytem, where there are 4 front headlights and the lo/hi beams are in separate headlights...be careful what you buy...there IS a difference. I know that when I went through the bow-tie judging at Carlisle last year that the judges were looking for Power Beam brand sealed headlights in my car. I know zilch about the lighting on a 71, but unless you have a 4 headlight system I don't think these will work for ya.

    Power beams

    Hello,

The Power beams are made by AC just like the T-3 bulbs are. The power beams are correct for 1970 so I don't see anything else being correct for the 1971 Camaro. Maybe we will hear from someone with an original car. :bowtie:
