Anyone have a picture of the outboard frame rail where the cable exits to the go to the wheel drum?

    Thanks

I don't have a picture, but there are good drawings in your Assembly Manual of the parking brake layout. I don't have an Assembly Manual for the later cars, and the cable setup for my 70 is completely different so it won't help you. An '81 Assembly Manual should have what you need.

I’m looking for a more precise location of where the hole is. I have the assembly manual and the Haynes and drawings don’t help.

As luck would have it, I happen to have exactly what you are looking for. I was just dealing with this yesterday.

Here is a shot from the inside, including the screw that attaches to the interior of the floorpan. (This is the factory install on a 78 - I think the 81 is the same.)

Here is a picture from the underside, with new cable.

You don’t happen to have a pic of the rear frame rail exit point?

The front edge of the exit shield bracket is positioned even with the rear edge of the leaf spring bracket. I couldn’t get a picture to show that due to things being in the way.
