Okay I know it's a Mustang, however it's the arch nemesis of the Camaro. My daughter (unknowing to me) sold her car for a nice profit and purchased a 1999 V6 Mustang. (wanted a Camaro) The car is in good shape for it's age but needs Dads (that would be me) help on a few things.

The major issue is the ABS system. Light is on constantly. Doing a little trouble shooting here and there yields nothing. Was told Autozone could run their anaylzer on it and fault it either to the ABS controller or the independent speed sensors on each wheel. Obviously I was told wrong. They cannot do that, only Ford. So not wanting to go there at this point does anyone know of anyone that can run a diagnostic on the system to confirm what is not working correctly?

Ford wants close to $800 for the ABS box. Bosch can trade it out for about $200 if I go that route. Speed sensors are about $75 per wheel.

If anyone has any ideas please let me know. She wants my Z28. She isn't going to get that..... ever

    Thanks in advance guys,

    Bob R

Have you had anyone pull codes yet? Any corner garage or chain shop should have a basic enough scanner that can pull ABS codes.

Besides, even if Vato Zone could scan ABS I doubt an 02 sensor would fix it. :p

Get the code first. There are all kinds of cheap quick fixes on these cars.

Hey Bob, is the light on all the time or does it come on as soon as the car moves?

Mike it is on all the time. As soon as you turn the key to start it comes on and stays on.

Basic code scanner will not read PCM bcm or abs codes. You are Hana have to take it to a shop with real equipment. If you spend a bill or two on an accurate diagnosis, it will save you in the long run. Good luck with it.

I just sent a message to a friend in flower mound that might be able to put you in touch with someone. I'll let you know.
