    Old Floor out:

Between these pictures I sprayed the car with PPG Epoxy inside and out and underneath to prevent rust since this build will be through winter.

New Floor and Toe boards in:

Im not sure if it was my car or what but the toeboards fit like crap. I really had to hack it up to get it to fit right. There is still a lot of repair work to do where it mounts to the firewall so that is one reason I am going to rebuild that side of it.

Firewall repair i am currently working on:

I haven't welded any of this to the actual firewall rather spot welding the pieces together so i can get all the contours and valleys on the original firewall. WHen everything looks good I am having a buddy tig weld the new wall.

Did your new floor come with the bracing for under the seats?

Also that smooth firewall is looking good!

I've been looking for a full floor for a 79. Where did you find yours (or did you cut your original one out, and blast it?)

It's is a complete new floor with braces and torque boxes from NPD.

My toes boards fit really bad. Part of it had to do with the fact that my passenger side firewall had been patched at one time before I bought it. Whoever did it warped that side of the firewall something awful. I'm going to have to use some Fusor 108B metal bonder to fill in the spaces that are hard to weld. The driver side of the toe board didn't fit well where the parking brake assembly attaches to the firewall either.

I am a bit jealous of that floor, if I did not have so many parts already purchased before I sent my car to the body shop I would have just had them put in a new floor. Oh well I will live with the patched look lol

Sorry guys I haven't got much done in the last month and a half. I've been battling bronchitis.

Here are a few recent pics:

Well I got the first coat of Lizard Skin Sound control Down. Gonna let it dry till tomorrow then apply another coat. After that dries I will go over the top with Lizard Skin ceramic insulation spray.
