    Wow...all the greats from my childhood are leaving the planet.

    Race in peace 'Goose, you singlehandedly changed the face of drag racing forever with the Mattel/Hot Wheels deal, a visionary who was far ahead of his time.

    Sad day indeed...for those of you who may not know, Tom brought in Tirend as a sponsor on one of his early FED's and that was the very first non-automotive sponsor in the NHRA.

    Afterwards, he put together the Mattel/Hot Wheels deal and brought along a dragging and screaming Snake who really wanted no part of it...as we all know, that worked out pretty well.
