The factory did not install them, they were sent out.

Hello Everybody: This cars value after restoration has been appraised to potentially reach six figures, due to the rare C&C T-Top. In 1979 the Chevrolet Motor Company utilized four different manufactures for T-Tops. Fischer was the factory installed top, however, supply could not meet demand. (SMOKEY & THE BANDIT). The factory contracted out with Hurst, American Hatch, and Cars and Concepts to fulfill the demand. This car was purchased new from the dealership with C&C T-Top installed. A grey area exist as to whether or not this is a factory top or a dealer installed top. This Z28 is a numbers matching all original California car with 46,000 miles, a 350 four bolt and factory A/C. The body is solid, with no cancerous rust, and the T-Top is still water tight! This Z28 is ready for restoration, and is missing nothing.
    ASKING PRICE: $18,750
    LOCATION: Redding CA

Come on, most 70-72 Z28s and SS cars don't bring that.

Hi Everybody: The six figure auction price would be based on the presumption that this car is one of a kind; and that no other 79 C&C T-Tops exist. It would also require more than one collector to be interested in it, and that it was a concourse quality restoration. I'm not a Camaro expert, but I have talked to people who are, and so far, no one has ever seen one. If anyone knows of one, please chime in, Id love to hear from you.

I wouldn't really give $1800.00 for it, not to knock your rarity, but that's just me-----GLWS
