Rear Disc Brake Conversion

    you cant get much more complex than the rachet screw inside the piston assembly of a stationary caliper....
    1 hydraulic caliper , 1 cable drum ...completely independent of each other.

    again its all about choices, what fits, and ultimately what you want. I am appreciative of the information compiled within this blog as there are always many different resources.

    I gave up bad mouthing Cadillac calipers a while ago. I figure if someone wants to go this route they should google it first, to at least know about the down side going in. I have been rebuilding them for the last 25 years. The theory looks good on paper but the park brake holding power is very weak. Drum brakes will drag tires like an emergency brake. I do like the looks of that S10 setup that was linked on the previous page.

    I just bought a conversion kit for my 1979 Z28 from Ecklers Camaro. It came with everything including parking brake cables and it only cost $400.99.

    not a link I called and talked directly to a tech specialist. I think I have the part numbers in my toolbox, I'll check Monday and post them if I have them.
