I have the dash out of my '80 Camaro, and several of the gauge needles are faded from the sun. I've restored a lot of early Mustangs, and have had good luck repainting gauge needles with the paint all of the vendors sell. However, it seems to be a much brighter orange than what was used originally on the Camaros. Does anyone have a source for the correct paint?

When I did mine I went to www.hipoparts.com. They have a fluorescent red and fluorescent orange. They can be mixed to get close to what you need.

Testor makes a fluorescent orange that is spot on to the '79-'81 Camaro gauge needles. Should be able to get it at any hobby shop.

    Yes, It should be fluorescent.
My original (1980) needles glowed a bit under a black light.
The orange paint I used on them was supposed to be fluorescent (and doesn't look bad).
It was a bright red/orange but does not glow under a black light.

Ace Hardware has the small spray cans of fluorescent orange, works great
