    My Stuff I used.
    Dist gear - Lunati 89027 (.491)
    Fuel pump rod - Lunati 94607 (5.750)
    Lifters - Lunati 72330-16 retro
    Push Rods - Comp 7608-16 7.200 (these are 1 piece hardened for my guide plates). I first had Melling 25733-16 and they were not hardened as stated.
    Timing set/chain - Double true roller - Lunati Adj Timing Set 95100 (Cloyes)
    Valve spring retainers - Lunati 75742-16 (1.250 11/32)
    Valve springs - Lunati 73943K1 (1.260") per cam kit
    Valves - Manley Stainless steel - Intake-10766 Exhaust-10765
    Pistons - Mahle Forged 40 over SBC550040F05 14730_02

    if lunati says you have to you should follow them. Howard's told me no, but that's a different brand. Plus they may be talking about the cam for that block and not a retrofit cam like I'm running.

    The manufacturers know better than the Internet. :)

    Custom cam with a iron gear on it, if you care to go that route.
