Starter Heat Shield

    Anyone using a heat shield on their OEM LS starter? The heat is killing mine.

    Factory shield, no problems with headers in AZ heat. Not a camaro.

    I also have a 65 GTO which is notorious for hot starters. Went to one of the bid box home improvement stores and purchased a piece of flat copper sheet, bent, beat and banged into shape to cover the starter. NEVER have had a problem since.
