I’m wanting to go aluminum heads now on my 385 stroker. But I’m not sure which ones will give me the kinda power I’m looking for. First I’m wanting power in the low end to mid range max of 6000rpm. It’s a street strip car too, 1/8th mile only. My cam specs are 230/236 duration .545/.555 lift Hyd roller. motown single plane intake, 10.1:1 compression with 64cc heads I currently have. 3.42 3k stall, I’m trying to make around 500-530hp and roughly the same tq if possible, I will not be changing the cam in this, so which head would you guys choose for the job? I’ve narrowed it down to 2 heads , the AFR 195cc eliminator street and the Pro-filer 210cc. Which of those would YOU pick if the price wasn’t an issue? And if you need more engine or car specs ask or check my sig. thanks ahead!

I would go the AFR 195's smaller runner will be better on the street. Mt pump gas 358 was in the mid 11's @116 with some home ported 180cc Bowtie heads for what it's worth.

If money isn't a factor, AFR all day long.

AFR. Got to watch a 383 with the AFR 195's, with a similar cam and compression to yours, make 520 hp on an engine dyno. And this was with a performer RPM airgap intake.

That’d be perfect, do you remember the tq peak rpm and the hp peak rpm?

My 383 works great with ATK 195 heads. I believe I'm close to 500 hp, with a small bit less cam than you. ATK heads are profilers with a stock location exhaust port. Quality on them is great, but after reading what everyone here constantly says about AFR, if money is not a consideration, go AFR.

If money isn't an issue than go straight to the AFR 210cc
They will crush any other conventional small-block head on the market. Don't be afraid of the 210cc runner, with a modern head design it will be just fine on your 383

Reading into the specs you provided, and assuming a 3750lbs starting line weight, your at approx. 400 rwhp and 450-460 at the flywheel, give or take. Are these the "platinum" series of head castings, if not, have they been ported at all.

I believe there is enough potential in those heads to hit your 500-530 hp goal without a problem. Just saying.

That time is with vortec heads that I had one before the dart iron eagle, with the darts it only ran a 7.9x @88 with a 1.85 60’. Heads are just standard dart iron eagle 200cc, nothin has been done to them. I was in a bind when swapping them on at the time or I would have went with aluminum then

Profiler, LMAO. Love their specs, love their price. Good luck trying to buy a pair. Don't care if you try to go direct thru them or go thru a major vendor/supplier--you'll be waiting an eternity. I'm building a motor similar to yours, will throw out the Brodix IK heads as a third option for ya. Watch that SCR if this is a street/strip car. The internet and others will tell you 10:5:1 and can run pump gas. Me, keeping it at the 10:0 mark is optimal if you want to run pump.
