    Hey folks,
I know this isnt "modern", but i was just wondering where i can find some info on installing a tbi engine in something that was originally carbed, or if anybody has some info they would like to share. I am interested mainly in fuel delivery and wiring. Thanks.

    Throtle Body Injection ;)

    try Jim at http://www.jimsperformance.com/

Also down load Ultim8z's EFI guide. There is lots of good info there. I did a TPI swap and a lot of the stuff you'll run into will be the same feel free to ask anything specific. The swap should be fairly easy.

TBI is relatively simple. only needing 9-13psi to run helps. i'm sure you could modify a stock harness to work with a swap, or else harnesses are on ebay quite a bit that are basically a 2 wire hookup.

TBI: Throttle Body Injection (More or less an electronic carb.)
TPI: Tuned Port Injection (A version of Multi-port Fuel Injection with long "tuned" runners that optimizes low-end power.)
TDI: Turbo Direct Injection also Tuned Direct Injection also Turbo Diesel, Impressive (Okay, so I made the last one up and the second one was only for one year or so.)

Holley makes a pretty nice TBI setup, from what I have read. You can use your 4bbl manifold.

I've done this project more than once. What would you like to know? You grab a computer from a TBI equipped vehicle. You decide on your compression, cam profile, exhaust, and vehicle use. Do you want to go fast, kinda fast, or HOLY poo fast? I can point you in any direction you want to go.

I have a complete GM TBI set-up that I had installed on my 79 and changed out to a LT-1 motor instead. I have everything including the fuel pump and wiring harness. I have a couple of computers and extra chips. Most importantly I have collected a complete manual on all the to-do's. Email me for more info. Thanks Ligtag
