So I recently got my 72 rs with a 327 from a ‘67 Vette. The engine appears to be stock and runs great but it doesn’t like to start without putting a little bit of fuel into the carb. It is a Quadrajet that I recently rebuilt (hoping to fix this exact issue) I’m hoping someone can help point me in the right direction to figure out this problem so I don’t just keep throwing money at the problem.

The only time I had that trouble was with a Q-jet, if the choke does not work on them those carburetors can be a bear to start.

Welch plugs at bottom of float bowl could be leaking, common quadrajet problem. Many have used jb weld to seal them.

They didn’t seem to be leaking when I had it apart. Was dry when I removed the carb. And I filled the bowl with fuel while it was apart to check for leaks.

Accelerator pump working? Idle circuit tubes plugged?

The accelerator pump was replaced when I did the rebuild. The car sat for around 10 years. Where do I find the idle circuit tubes? I did clean the entire carburetor during the rebuild but this was the first one I had done so it is very possible I missed something.
