well i just got this car and i actually know very little about its actually build other than i have great confidence that the guy knew what he was doing when he built it it was a running 1/4 mile engine that was pulled for a big block it is a 355 with aftermarket aluminum heads 1.6 roller rockers tunnel ram and dual holley 650 carbs it has not yet been fired on this setup due to i still need to buy a distributor which i found out that an hei just will not do lol and i will need to get a new fuel pump and regulator and mostlikely ditch the current fuel rail heres a pic of my setup tell me what you think

    .

Why do you assume the HEI won't fire??
If it's got very little load, it will fire fine.
Do you know it's got big compression, or a street set up??
Big difference in spark requirements for an all show engine, and a all go set up.

Also, I'm not a fan of those fuel lines or header wrap on the street.

    Good luck.

nope but i sure did try im looking for a msd 85551 or equivelant i already have a msd gal ignition module and a msd blaster 2 coil so figure i would just do msd for the distributor magnetic pickup and mechanical advance

and the engine might look like it was built for show but i assure you it wasnt

Good call, forgot how big they are.

I was asking if it's show or go, I did not assume either way.
Even though with such tiny carbs, I probably did assume low compression, mild power.
I've seen some decent power engines with a HEI is the point I was making,
but they had plenty of room.

So what are the specs, how streetable is it, how much power.
Hard to pick a stall from a pretty picture??

unfortunatly im sure the hei would fire if i could actually get it into the block its too big i need a much smaller distributor but i already have a msd 6al and a blaster 2 coil so i figured i will go with the msd 85551 and it dosent have vacuum advance and i assure you that this engine wasnt built for show before the tunnel ram and new cam it put down 508 to the wheels in a 67 camaro the rest of the drive train unknown but i also know he was also shooting a 100 shot of nos so i know the compression isnt more than 12.5-1 and is more like 11.5-1
