Wax paper and lug nuts

    5166D780-BD27-40A8-959E-A6241BD146ED.jpeg Painted lugs nuts and wanted to cut down on chips. Took 2 layers of wax paper and slid over lugs. Worked really good. No chips jus some wax residue

    Great idea, should help protect chrome or stainless ones also. Will have to give it a try.

    Been using a rag inside sockets to protect chrome lug nuts for over 40 years. They do make lined sockets to protect the finish.

    Another tip is to lay a rag in the wheel so when you inevitably drop a lug nut some time it doesn't dent or mark the wheel.

    A good quality socket is a must!
    (Not some worn out thing picked up at a flea market which is only useful for pressing bushings!)

    And leave the impact wrench in the tool box!
