If i was going to go to a wrecking yard and look for a turbo to rebuild, to play around with on a 350, which cars had the "good" turbo's / wastegate's, etc, on them. I have an old truck that i was going to build a turbo system for, just to experiment, and was wondering if i should use a small turbo, large one, or one of each, and do a twin setup to get boost right across the rpm range... don't need to run much boost - yet. The cheaper, the better --- in this case, anyway.

I have a Rajay 301E10 (T04B..) on my 78 and it supposedly supports 425 hp. Turbomustangs.com is a great place to ask these questions, very knowledgeable people over there.

I kinda like the 14B and 13G of the 1st gen eclispe/talon. Now i dont know an awful lot about turbo scienceness, but if a turbo off a 4 banger can push 14-16 lbs of boost to a 2.0 motor, then couldnt the 4 banger turbo push 6-7 lbs of boost to a 5.7? Plus they were pretty cheap on ebay the last i looked, around something like $45.

I'm doing a twin setup on my Vega right now. There's a post in the comp. section with some pictures.

About the only V8 car with a turbo was the Firebird as far as I can remember. That would be a pretty rare car to find in a boneyard. I remember JC Whitney had a turbo setup for the small block years ago that was pretty reasonable, would be a good way to go today if it was still available I suspect.

... "roughly", would you know the cost on trying to do a setup like this. I have all the welding and tubing covered, ...just wondered on the cost of the "turbo" parts...
