I needed 8 quarts of Rotella T4 for the old RV motor I'm dropping in the truck and figured I'p pick it up at AutoZone since I was getting a timing set there anyway. $18.97 for a four quart jug, so I got two.

I was just placing an online grocery order for pickup at Walmart and decided to check the price on Rotella T4 (which you can order through grocery and pick up - so no going in the store).

$12.97 regular price for the 4qt jug.

    Damn.

Same thing with tranny fluid, freon, etc. I'm not buying fluids at the parts stores anymore. What a scam!!!

What Walmart you go to? Beville? I'll meet you there. ;) My computer is now working but my printer is messed up.

Haven't been to Beville in a long time, even though I work right down the road. When I was still in school I'd hit that place at 2AM and hooooo boy was it wild.

I stick to the Port Orange stores these days. Plus I've been doing the grocery pickup so I don't even go inside anymore!

Its pretty intense down there, I've been in that part of town. My parole/probation officer was just down the road from Walmarts, directly across the street from the golf course. My appointments were always 11:00 AM - wild then!

I use Mobil 1 in my Charger, Walmart typically has the 5qt jug for $22, $33 (last time I looked) at Autozone.

I buy Valvoline Premium Blue 15w40 when Menards has it on sale for $11/gallon, $20 at Menards.

They won’t price match because the other stores buy in “bulk”.
So you’re telling me Walmart buys more oil for its 4800 stores in the US than the 5200 stores Autozone has?
    Not buying it, literally.

I use Mobil 1 as well for all my daily drivers. I hate Wally-world with a passion but can't justify spending that much more at AZ or Advance either.

Walmart has (or had) waaaay more muscle with vendors than any of the auto parts stores. I know when I worked at Advance 20 years ago the oils that really moved in VA were the Advance brand and Pennzoil, with the Advance brand having the highest gross markup so that's what the store managers wanted you to push. I'd imagine Walmart moves an order of magnitude more oil than AA and AZ combined.

I buy all of my oil and most of my filters from Walmart. I just make the order large enough to qualify for free shipping so I don't have to go into the store

12.7% on 11 Billion in net profit is not too shabby. William Rhodes has a pretty tidy compensation package. Here's his estimated net worth and comp package, along with some other members of the board (who also serve on other boards). Somebody's getting rich. Just not me :)

This is interesting, too. One of the ways the big dogs make their money, by shifting paper around.
