Hello , I would like to purchase a distruibtor 1111997 with a date code of F70, or possible late E70. Or if anyone has company, or person that sells these. As always thank you.

I should have one in my stash, but it is an early one from Oct, Nov 69. I'd have to pull it out to see for sure on the date.

I have about 20-25 Chevrolet V8 distributors in my garage attic that I have collected over the last 30+ years. According to my notes I have a 1111997 distributor dated 0D29 (April 29, 1970) but I would have to check in my garage. We just got 24" of snow on Monday & Tuesday. I realize that this is a bit early for your needs but if interested send me a PM.

You have quite a big window of time for the distributor. The one I have here is dated July 21,1969 and I took it out of a Caprice built in Oct-Nov of 1969. This distributor was likely from the first AC Delco production run for the 1970 model cars as it predates the first 1970 cars off the assembly line by at least a month, and it predates the actual car it was installed in by 4 months or so.
The distributor has to predate the engine and the engine has to predate the car assembly date.

No I dont have the correct date, as far as I know the 350 SS uses 1111997 only.

    Just answer your lock issue.

With an E25 engine, the D29 distributor that DCL70 has would work just fine for you, but as I stated earlier, you could also use any distributor from a couple of months earlier if needed and still be correct.
