Stripes on the tall spoiler(COPO for 1970) go all the way down the spoiler. The short one piece spoiler always has the radius corner stripes. The 1973 Z28 stripes on the tall (only one available) spoiler have the radius corners. Mike

All 70 RS Z28's did not come with the 3 piece rear spoiler. A mechanic I knew owned a 70 RS Mulsune 4-spd with a 1 piece spoiler. I took a pic of the front and rear in '75.

Gary, I think you may have misunderstood what x77-z28 was saying. In '70 the tall spoiler was a late addition to the production run and not as an RPO but rather as a COPO. So while all '70 Z/28's come with the short spoiler by default after a certain date a customer could have attempted to order the tall spoiler (by x77-z28's reckoning, after April or May). So depending upon your restoration goals you may want to take that into consideration prior to selecting a spoiler for your car...I think I have correctly interpreted x77-z28's post.

I suppose all of that assumes a number of things:
    • You care about technical correctness:)
    • You don't have documentation that tells you which spoiler was originally installed on your car.
    • You haven't already installed a spoiler;)

There are 2 different stripe patterns on the Early 2nd Gens (1970-1973).
They stripes on the 1970 & the 1973 are the same, where as the 1971 & 1972 are different.

the 70 & 73 high & low spoilers have curved stripes (This particular has the correct dimensions for the '73) Cause it is my car & I have the assembly manual

    the 1971 & 1972 come straight down

Not sure if the front is different, that , this is the way way to tell from the back

Don't rely on the Ebay or the average Internet pictures for the correct stripes. I know, before I got my Assembly Manual I looked & looked and even top of the line resto's had them wrong

you can get the Assembly Manual with the exact dimensions (on ebay though or places like Classic Industries)

the width of the 70 stripes were unique for that year PLUS the rear stripes were "different" on Van Nuys cars vs Norwood cars

Everything in the assembly manual was not used in production.
