Note syncronizer installed in lieu of distributor. This device tells the fuel injection and ignition controller whether the engine is on its exhaust or compression stroke allowing control of an individual coil-per-cylinder ignition and for sequential fuel injection. The device works by using a hall effect sensor that detects the presence or absence of a half-moon shaped shaft that rotates with the camshaft. The sensor will detect the shaft when the round part of the half-moon is near the sensor, and will not detect the shaft when the shaft is further rotated, revealing the flat part.
