I thought I saved the pan I cut out from the drivers side pan. Apparently I did not.
Getting ready to weld this last pan in.
Does anyone have a pic of the underside where the ebrake bracket is welded to the pan underneath?
I can provide a pic of what I have if needed to clarify.
If I really wanted to know, I would use some liquid paint remover on the whole thing. Remove it all. Then you would be able to tell if maybe they used a small object to flatten that area out then restamp it, but screwed it up. Paint and primer hides a lot of sin lol.
If I assume that was meant to be Z85, Then I really dont know why they would do that. And the Z is backwards with no other inverse Z stamped. I suppose its possible they were trying to hid that it was a Rally Sport, but the theory doesnt make sense since theyre no "Z28" stamped in its place...
I'm checking my RS trim tag to compare. I think that stamp was Z85. But, for the life of me, I can't understand why it is backwards on the Z. Can we see an entire picture of the back?
My uncle had been rebuilding old cars for a long time, maybe 40 years? I have seen cases where a trim tag/vin tag was defaced because someone tried to purport that what they were selling was not really what it was. So, they defaced the tag to make it look like something (In this case a Z) Then...
