Battery mounted in trunk. new cable from starter to battery. new ground from engine to frame up front. new negative from battery to metal in trunk

why am I getting vacuum at 900 rpm idle on the ported feed off carb? I can feel it sucking the tip of my finger when I take hose off.
If that's what it is called.. the fitting I am referring to is the one that is higher than the other on the carb?

BUT!!!!!! what does the allen wrench do as far as adjusting vacuum advance????
Which way does what??? turning it clockwise as if to tighten it does??? and visa versa???
I still think the so called American made../ made in Taiwan distributor coil might not be...
OK.. I am starting to wonder now. As some may have read I had a leak issue which was a head gasket. I have replaced it and sat the distributor back down in and now having a timing issue. I did mark it before removal. And now I think I am 1 tooth off..
Is it still possible to time it correct...
and I have never heard of the End shim play as HHOT71 refers to.. I will need to figure that out.
As far as the coil and module.. should I replace the china "quality" ones??? lol
This did happen on my 355 in the car now,, Same kind of New distributor,,, 50 miles of driving car died. bad...

I bought a HEI distributor with a 65k volt coil vacuum advance.
a guy I know said to run a MSD style with box and separate coil...
yes..it did yield a color,,and I wish you could have seen it..OIL and coolant both were clear with a slight tint of yellow..

OK..Go ahead and blast away at me.. I bought NEW bolts and they had a white sealant like tape on them so I did not use extra sealant on threads.
I can now see MY big mistake..I am calling the manufacturer of the bolts tomorrow as they claimed no extra was needed because of the white stuff...
ok.. I did a taste test on leaking fluid..
I now believe it is coolant as it was bitter..LOL not smokey or petroleum taste..:confused: :eek: :eek: :confused: :crazy:

Can it be possible to seep down from top of valley or head bolts between head and block??
I guess I will have to tear it down and look...argh:mad:

when you set the head down on block,, where the lower front bolt is...right behind exhaust. there is a little square tab on block that sticks out 1/2 inch..2 on each side front and back.. the...
