    Pete's "71" Restomod Update 01

For some reason looking at things a while back I thought that the old headlamp switch to wiper switch grounding plate didn't work with the new style headlamp switch. After your post I went and revisited and it does work so great info and thanks!

More wiring issues with American Autowire kit! Headlight harness length. What year or model did they use for the 9 pin switch connector that's on my harness and why don't they sell the "Rocking Horse" terminals separately that they used for the connector and dash plug-in?

Thanks for the great reply! Haven't got around to checking the hood bump stops yet but that's something to check for sure before paint. The body work is going to be farmed out and I'm sure they are going to have big fun getting the gaps right! The outer fenders and lower valence are the only...

I can still get to mine by talking the bezel off and the instrument cluster out too! Where's it's at now may give me another option as it is just off to the left side of the steering column? Will be finding out for sure here pretty soon? The A/C ducting will still be in front of it though.

Case of the missing horn? Maybe you guys know why Chevy deleted one of the horns on the 71? Money? Electrical design flaw? Ran out of horns? Just because?

Simplified the fan controls! Decided my original plans were too complicated and having everything being able to run independently of each other was a bit much!

I'm running into the same decision making as to where to mount my electrical stuff! You think you have all this real estate but you really don't. Trying to find easily accessible locations for devices and wires that won't interfere or be easy to work on later is a little challenging!

    Pete's "71" Restomod Update 01

Not sure if your battery charger is up to the task? The original horn relay also has a "key left in the ignition" buzzer that you may be wired to? The AAW kit that I have deletes the buzzer circuit and only provides a horn wire. Also, my Camaro which is a base model only came with one horn so if...

Those are for your vehicle speed sensor VSS. Yellow is ground but I'm using a GM standard sine wave which generates it's own signal and where polarity doesn't matter. Some VSS's need an additional wire for power. Depends on what you have. Wiring is shown on drawing 510034 page 2. They should be...

It will work the way you have it but the factory harness and my kit double up the 12 volt feed wires at the motor and then jumper the 12 volt feed single wire to the washer. Your's will work fine the way it is.

Your harness may be correct and it was just mine that was mislabeled. I can't see well enough from your photo. Item #15 on the wiring diagram. Purple - "12 volt feed "in" to neutral safety switch from ignition switch." Mine was incorrectly labeled "Solenoid". Purple - "12 volt...

    What headers do you recommend?

DOUGS Headers P/N D308. No clearance issues. MSD starter can be installed or removed without header removal. SBC ZZ4 with clutch. No modifications required for Z-bar and once again plenty of clearance. Also, designed to properly fit ZZ4 Fast Burn heads with the raised exhaust ports.

I cut my hole to fit the shifter boot upside down on the transmission tunnel. I ran another boot right side up on the tunnel hump that I riveted in and used some Marine sealant between the hump and transmission tunnel. If the upside down boot fails water will be trapped between the trans tunnel...
