Dude, you seriously worry too much about things. My car has a ton of AN plumbing with reusable fittings, I have yet to have a single one leak or fail in 8 years. Use the matching fittings and hose, assemble them properly, and you won't have issues with it.
They're far from indestructible, they wear out just like any other differential. The bias from the gears pushes against the case, it usually wears the case surface to the point that they lose their preload and then they don't put power down, they're not rebuildable. They're probably fine for the...
I don't know about the 12 bolt wave-trac, but I know with a 9" the axles used for a wave-trac vs a tru-trac are different lengths. If I remember correctly, the wave-trac uses a shorter axle than the tru-trac does and I seem to remember it being only one side being different.
I suspect they sent...
Other things to consider, you're going to have additional costs over and above what's listed in that kit.
-The plumbing costs can get quite high especially if you need -16 lines and fittings like I did, some of the -16 fittings can exceed $100 each.
-There's no bolt-in tank solutions for 2nd...
That B series is backwards thinking to me, if you're going to go through the trouble and expense of a dry sump, do it all the way. The achilles heel of the LS is the stock oil pump configuration, it runs at crankshaft speed which makes it prone to cavitation above 6,200 rpm. I would use a system...
I just received a similar letter from Classic Collectors (Infinity) stating my policy has been picked up by Haggerty. I have a feeling several of these companies may be getting bought/merged.
The only advantage would be the later Double D shaft is a bit easier to line up for installation vs a spline. You would have to replace the intermediate shaft to use the 79 column but they're available new, complete with a ragjoint through camaro central and probably other parts suppliers.
I...
It's pretty similar to a tru-trac in how it works, not sure how it would do drag racing. My thing was looking for something that was serviceable, I was killing two tru-tracs per season so this should ultimately be cheaper than tossing two tru-tracs in the trash.
I spend most of the time in my car on the road courses and auto-x so this info is probably not for everyone, but for the guys that do the same it may be helpful.
After repeatedly killing Tru-tracs I started looking for alternative solutions for differentials that would live and be rebuildable...
Make sure you aren't loosing your rpm signal, it will cause it to shut the fuel pump off. I've seen this happen intermittently and it will cycle the fuel pump on and off momentarily.
I owned an engine building business for 10 years and had Kurt Urban who is one of if not the best LS engine builders in the world working for me. He's was building them for GM for their Motorola Cup and Firehawk cars .
We ran plenty of steel pans, the whole structural integrity deal is pretty...
I've seen plenty of guys grenade their engines autocrossing with stock and aftermarket pans that don't have trap door baffling. The baffling is pretty much non existent in the stock pans.
I would highly recommend that you use a pan that has better baffling than the stock Fbody pan since you're going to auto-x.
I've had good luck with the Autokraft pan and the Fbody windage tray but you may have to space the windage tray out with a few washers under the studs with a 4" stroke...
