    Stinking Quarter Panels

Well, after messing around for two weeks removed the tacked in wheelhouse (over tacked which is why I was trying to blame the non-alignment problem on different areas) and refit. Corrected the issue and tested fit of both quarters. Threw tail panel cover and number/filler panels on and good to...

Best way to install full floor pan

Also, if you go this route, goes without say make sure to take several measurements. I also made some metal jig pieces that I could set on the inner bracing I installed and drop down to several mounting locations (seat bolt holes as an example) to provide a little assurance I wasn’t crapping...

Best way to install full floor pan

I did a one piece floor pan R&R, but I also replaced the firewall at the same time making the install a little easier (but more difficult at the same time). I made a jig that included a support base with up posts that were set up based on info puller from the datum line sheets(think that’s...

    Stinking Quarter Panels

The outer wheel well is tacked in place currently and the drop off is clamped in place. Might have to remove the quarters and raise the outer wheel well up slightly again as that helped get my gaps the last time..but not sure that will fix the gap between the filler panel and trunk hinge...

Tail Panel Replacement / Deck Lid Alignment?

Sorry for reviving an old thread, but those that had the gap between the rear hinge panel and deck filler panel, would you mind sharing how you fixed it. I’m in the same boat and when I jacked mine up, it messed with the trunk to quarter side gaps and made the rear quarters want to lift. Any...

    Stinking Quarter Panels

That’s my problem…whole dang back-end is all new metal except the trunk lid..that I kept on the car when everything was removed. The trunk lid lines up perfect with the end of the quarters and the door to quarter gaps are good up front…so the trunk lid can’t move back or the quarter. When I...

    Stinking Quarter Panels

Been fighting the new aftermarket quarter panels for some time and thought I had them licked…but no. Got all the gaps nice and just a hair under 3/16 and threw the tulip panel on a uh-oh. Large gap between the panel and trunk lid and sits below the lid a good 1/4 to 3/8. I did measure the...

    Quarter to Rear Panel Fitment

Thanks Homegrown! I may have been going about this the wrong way. Gonna try your approach and rework he original trunk drop offs (same problem with repopulate quarters…but door gaps look pretty darn good) and temp install the tail panel first and work top down in the rear. Removal of the...

    Quarter to Rear Panel Fitment

One last thing, the rear part of the quarter panel is extremely hard to raise. Rear part of drop off panel binding with the rear of the quarter. Is there a better way of dying this. I currently have the drop offs clamped into place…maybe let them float. What’s the best approach…work from...

    Quarter to Rear Panel Fitment

Been working on these quarters for way too long and getting no where fast. Can anyone upload pics of the rear quarter panels along with some measurements. Need some good pics and measurements of the rear quarter (by drop off and in reference to the four bumper holes) and picks of the rear tail...

    Quarter to Rear Panel Fitment

It’s a 76 camaro. I had all the measurements but lost them. Aftermarket parts once again throwing fits. Already had to remove metal where the drip rail attaches to the forward most part of the quarter attachment point to get it to lay flat. Been fighting this for days and was hoping to get...

    Quarter to Rear Panel Fitment

Been working on installing my aftermarket quarter panels and have a quick question regarding the rear panel to rear quarter fitment. Does this gap look about right. I’ve tried to find some good close up clear pics to show what this area looks like, but not successful (mine was all rotted out...

Every time you pull a panel off...

Looking for some thoughts...go ahead and just replace or fix the out wheel well. This thing must have been in an accident prior to me owning. Pulled the quarter and saw this and then took the wire wheel to the quarter and sure enough...hit right behind the wheel and caved in the back half...

    New floor pan question

When I welded mine in, I drilled holes in between those in the frame to cut the distance and cranked the welder up when I plug welded the floor to the new/used frame rails. Not sure that’s the best way to do it...hopefully. Be sure to make sure that pan is squared up prior to welding it in. I...

    Header Panel Assembly

Quick question, anyone else’s hood latch assembly posts look like these or did someone mess something up in the past. One has threads and other a bald post. Suggestions?

    Aftermarket Fender Fitment Issues

Well, after a long week (and all weekend), I made some progress. As you can see, the gaps still need work (aftermarket doors and fenders). However, I was able to make on small relief cut on the drivers fender and stuff 4 shims at the bottom to flatten out the curve (still about a 1/16 fender...

    Aftermarket Fender Fitment Issues

Thanks for all the responses. New doors and fenders all around due to rust. The gap to the a-pillar is about 3/8 as is the bottom door to rocker gap. I think the door is set pretty decent, especially given how well the old fender fit after a few minutes worth of adjusting. I agree with repo...

    Aftermarket Fender Fitment Issues

Well, have the doors hung the best I could and want to install new aftermarket fender And horrible fitment. Problem is when I get the top set, I can’t pull the bottom down enough to flatten and suck the fender into alignment with the door (body line high as well). After messing with for two...
