Thats good. Mine is the other way around. The block and intake are original all else has been upgraded. New heads, MSD distrubutor and edlebrock...
Intersting. Thanks for sharing. I am having a hard time finding heads with an early date. Not sure why. The heads were also used on Corvettes
Here is a better pic showing the location. Just above the left side of the water pump.[ATTACH]
That is the casting date. The assembly stamp is under the alternator on the pad surface.

No worries. You need to see when your engine was assembled. The # is under the alternator on the pad. It may have paint on it.
Here is a picture of my assembly date.[ATTACH]
Looks like H-8-0 that would be August 8th of 70. That would work for my car also. When was you engine assembled?
It is under the casting number. If you send a larger picture i could tell you.
Thats what I was looking at. Thank you for your time. Now any idea who would have a set of these? I found a few but with the wrong dates.
Thanks. I saw that. It lists an alternate head at the bottom (says unverified)
I am looking for a set of heads for my 71. The engine is stamped 12/11/70. does anyone know what head number it should have. I believe it is "487"...
that would make sense. There are no stripes on it.
My trim tag reads Z28DX3. Does anyone know what this means[ATTACH]
