the part that gets me going is the value of these shells i just dont get it..no motor no trans no interior faded paint some suspension and disc brakes hey 16k! thats the price of a completely built used car! where is the logic in this classic car insanity?!
your argument makes sense but these arent "cars" we are talkin about but strait up hunks of sheet metal going for 5 figures! and now they equip them with modern electronics and modern engines which makes them even more valuable than they were from the factory 50+yrs ago..is todays challenger not...
investments? supply and demand agree but if instead of these cars being rebuilt if they were just used for scrap metal i doubt a rolling shell be going for 20k..i guess value is all psychological and not intrinsic
what is driving the value of these iconic american cars? is it the contoured sheet metal? the brand name? the rare coveted model that now can be found with an internet search? what is the driving force of valuation?

i cant decide which one to buy! the 1987 is a nice black ss with a 402 th400 nice rims the 1970 is like a gloss dark gray with a 454 each have their own standard issues that need to be fixed but im at a loss!
has anyone done this mod if so whats the best way to go about it? im thinking a change from the foot e-brake to a handbrake be an interesting prospect!
