    Tire decisions - 1970 Z28

So I am ready to change tires. My BF Goodrich radials are 5-6 years old and I can see a sidewall bulge or two. Tread is like new. They cost about $200 each. I am just having a hard time selecting the Firestone Radial. I've never had them on my cars and I never remember seeing even one 70 Z28...

Looking again for my lost wheel! 2021

Every so often I ask about my lost wheel...it's time again! :D The story goes like this: Back in the early '70s, a friend of mine (and my brother) took his Cranberry Red 70 Z28 up into the mountains from Florida. Just after they entered a road it was closed for ice. He lost control on an icy...

    1970 Z28 Grill Trim Disassembly

Has anyone ever taken their pot metal grill trim off of the plastic grill? How did you do it without breaking anything? It looks like it is just partially bent tabs over the plastic grill.

Sorry for the broken picture links

I have changed a few things on my website htaccess file. One change inadvertently excluded the Nasty site from being able to see any pictures I posted with my threads. I fixed that. I don't get on much anymore (got tired of the "_A_I" admins) and I just finished my new book on an old...

It's cold up north but terrific in Florida!

I need someone who has rebuilt an Eaton Type 3 posi to help me at the auto hobby shop. To be clear, that would be someone who knows exactly what they are doing. We will remove it, rebuild it and reinstall it with a backlash check. In exchange, I'll be happy to put you up in our guest room and...

Google Chrome Planning to Eliminate Ad Blocker Extensions

I read where Chrome will be eliminating some ad blocker extensions except for enterprise users (not the car company!) I also use Firefox and Brave browsers. They seem to work very well.

Did anyone else notice a tax reduction in their returns? I mean, I read about it, but it looks like about 15% reduction from last year!

    Saginaw Manual Steering Gearbox

I needed to adjust my box. I also had a small leak and I couldn't remember where to check it and where to fill it if necessary. I found this great reference to adjusting it and put a copy here. Here is the grease pic. I use a lithium-based grease, like ball joint grease in a tube.

Retired military option to visit Prospect harbor

I use the Navy vacation spots. You must be active or retired military. Anyway, one of my bucket list visits is Prospect Harbor, Maine. The Navy has a cottage there they rent out for $125 per night, two-night minimum. It's hard to get into. It's available this week, 14-18 January. We can't get...

    Spot repair

I have two blemishes in my finish. 1) A yellow spot about 6 inches in diameter. 2) A small rust bubble from hell that keeps returning. Can I spot repair the yellow spot by sanding just the immediate area? Can one really blend the spot into the area to be unnoticeable without repainting the...
