There are numbers on the rear in 2 places that I'm aware of (maybe more?) - but I don't remember which are the ones that tell you the code. One spot is on the passenger side tube that the axle goes through, the other is on the web of the pumpkin. They are very hard to read and you may not see...
The rear may be correct and original, but someone could have just converted the brakes from drum to disc? Thats a common upgrade.
My Z came new with a 10 bolt posi.
Mine fit with almost two inches of clearance in a '78 (I think the floors should be the same?). Maybe I just can't see it in your pictures, but do you have the floor hump that manual cars came with? Automatics didnt come with the hump and the muncie may have fit without it. The hump came with my...
Thanks, the pictures helped alot. I did solve the problem. First, I removed the engine harness connector from the fuseblock which wasn't quite as hard as I thought it would be because of its location behind the power brake booster. I measured the 12V tab from coming from the fusible link and the...
Sorry this is a little long.....I searched and found threads on this issue but couldn't find this exact problem. 78 camaro was running fine. Shut it, went to start again and there is no power at the fuse box. I suspected the fusible links but both are good - both sides of each have 12V. The...
My son and I picked up another 78 Camaro as a project car. He will post pics as it moves along, but in the meantime while looking for a wire to run the Holley electric choke, I found the connector in the picture hanging from the firewall. It has 3 heavy (maybe 10 gage) wires going to it. There...
I haven't seen anyone mention the valve cover gaskets? I have had the same leak on my last two 350 engines with oil dripping from the center of my scattershield (bell). It turned out to be in both cases the rear of the valve cover gaskets not sealed properly and the oil would run down the back...
emergency brake spring?
I know this is an old thread, but does anyone know where to buy a new ebrake pedal spring? I assume this is the small coil spring that pushes the tooth into the pedal gear.
I appreciate your help - no need for a pic since my relay is inside by the fusebox. I'm thinking there might be a nub of a wire sticking out of the firewall behind the brake booster that I cant see. Thanks!
Is your relay under the dash? Can you see how the wire is routed to get there? I'd like to find where the wire broke at and reconnect it. My wire broke about 8 inches past the fuse and I just cant find where to reconnect it.
Thanks!
Well, the under hood light used to work. I found the wire disconnected about 8 inches past the fuse. Looks like it broke off from somewhere, but I cant find where. Does anyone know how the black wire is routed? Does it go through the firewall? The wire diagram says it goes to the "engine...
I wasnt saying that the dragstrip has potholes LOL. I was asking about landing after launch at the track, and driving in PA with potholes.
The roads here are just bad and sometimes you just cant avoid one....
Has anyone noticed more blown tires or bent rims with the 18" wheels?
I have the...
OK - so I posted the other day about slightly changing the stance of my Z by raising the back by an inch or so. This led to tires and wheels - maybe changing from stock 15s to 17" front, 18" back, or maybe 18 all around.
What is your experience with landing after launch with "big wheels" and...
I had to do a search to learn about that mod! I havent done any mods like that ... I only put the new leafs and bushings in the back. It looks like that mod would lower the back of the car a little and give you more traction.

I did all of the suspension work a few months ago - I used the delalum bushings with the globalwest control arms - they dont bind like the rubber ones do. I'm pretty sure everything has settled by now - the back springs actually did drop about an inch after the first month or so. I am only...
I torqued everything with weight on the tires - they werent supposed to be lowering springs.... it sat about 1.5 inches lower with the original front springs. Since I was doing the control arms I figured I'd change the springs while I was at it. It handles great and goes straight. I guess it...
Hi, I have been a member for a while but havent posted much. I'm looking for opinions before I spend a fortune. After installing Globalwest upper and lower ctrl arms and springs in the front and new leafs in the back the front sits about 1.5 to 2" higher than I want.( I do like the front to sit...
Looks Great.
Did you have the seats with the plastic cover and the big hole in the back when the cover is removed?(mine have a big square hole in the center with hog rings)
If so, do you still have the plastic cover on the backs of the buckets?
I assume you had to get new foam padding?
Thanks!
