I have a built 700r4 to go behind my 383 stroker, but is currently mated to the 350 still in the car, which I have to start pulling this week. I have 3:73 posi rear-end and at 75mph, I'm at 2500rpm or so. It has a real nice, firm shift into 2nd gear, and I can't wait to put that new engine in...
It sits 1 1/2" lower in front than the stock springs that were in it. I've only bottomed out once going into a shopping center entrance, and that was a valance scrape, not suspension or crossmember. I didn't get the Fox adjustable shocks like Biker, so I think it's a bit more harsh than I'd...
I have the same setup, and I ended up getting the big block spring with one 1/4" spacer to get the car off the tires.
25.5" ground to fender lip
13.25" center of wheel to fender lip
25.5" tall tire
Hey bud. I know this is gonna be a bummer, but I did it too. Call Wilwood and explain it, they will send you the correct caliper bracket that puts its in front of the axle, so opposite of the shock. Same way the passenger side is set up. The bracket is like $43, and, they might "help you out" on...
Hello all,
My new Moog Problem Solver drag link doesn't have grease zerks for the idler and pitman arm joints like my factory one does. Anyone know why, and how to grease them if needed?
Thanks,
Sean
Thanks again BonzoHansen and 79T/Aman. A call to Dave and Wilwood got it sorted out. Correct on the A34 bearing, but the race needs replaced too, just to clarify. P/n LM12748. I didnt know until Dave mentioned it. SPG, you could order your Wilwood kit, and tell them you have the later spindles...
Classic Industries sells a kit, p/n SC226, that modifies the stock shifter, and has all the brackets you need underneath to properly attach the cable. I went ahead and ordered a new cable from them as well. Figured why not while I was doing all this. Pretty simple and straightforward job...
Well that's a bummer, seeing how I already have the wilwood brake kit, and bought the PTFB spindles for my 1977 LT. The inner bearings seem to be the same, but the smaller outer ones stop right after the threads. Same thought as you SPG, 45 year old spindles, might as well replace them while...
