    Is it a 1978 Z-28 engine?

Same thing I found. 1978 needs upgrade anyways if you want some muscle. I have a 1971 350 CJL for my 77 Z28 since it's missing the engine. Besides these years were mediocre power.

Finally tried Muraitic Acid from Home Depot, etc. Be very careful and follow instructions on lable for safe handling. Only thing is it won't take off grease or paint, etc. After a couple hours soaking all the rust comes off, bolts, nuts, anything that will fit in container you use. Rinse it off...

454 bored .060 Piston dome height

Thanks man! If you're getting those clearances with flat tops I think my .120 domes with intake valve reliefs should keep me more than safe. Especially when I plan on a cam of like 510/520 Ideal factory valve clearance is .80 int and .100 exh Got to keep those other numbers in check.

454 bored .060 Piston dome height

I've been using the Summit Racing c/r calculator and I come up with 9.25:1 on my .060 over 454 using 113 cc open chamber heads. My dome height is .120 could be off a few though. I'm thinking that's an effective dome volume of -10.5cc. I think running a cam with 510/520 would put me where I...

I'm keeping the smaller valves, I think I'm pushing it already. LOL I've heard boring actually increases compression ratio. You'd think it would do the opposite..
